Salary: £35,000 to £45,000 per annum
Role Overview:
Our client is seeking an experienced and motivated Qualified Accountant with a strong background in public practice who is looking to develop their career within a professional and supportive environment, to join their established and growing team in North Ayrshire.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a varied portfolio of clients, preparing accounts, supporting tax compliance, and providing a high standard of professional service.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships, limited companies and charities accurately and within agreed deadlines
Prepare management accounts where required.
Prepare Cash Flows where required
Prepare personal and corporation tax computations and submissions.
Liaise directly with clients regarding financial information and queries. .
Ensure compliance with current accounting standards and HMRC requirements.
Maintain accurate working papers and client files.
Utilise cloud-based accounting software to prepare and review financial information.
Build and maintain strong professional relationships with clients.
Keep up to date with changes in tax legislation and accounting practices.
Training of junior staff and provide support to colleagues across the practice as required.
Provide software training for clients
Skills & Experience Required
Essential:
Qualified Accountant (ICAS, ACCA or equivalent)
Previous experience working within a public practice environment.
Strong knowledge of preparing accounts for a variety of business types.
Experience using various accounting software including Xero, QuickBooks, Sage.
Excellent understanding of account preparation procedures.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Supervision of accounts staff
Excellent organisational and time management skills.
