Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 09:00 – 17:00 (Office Based)
Salary: £36,500 – £39,500 (pro rata)
Overview: We are currently recruiting for an experienced Compliance Officer to support a Housing Association based in South Ayrshire on a temporary 6–8 week contract.
This role is critical in ensuring the organisation meets all statutory and regulatory compliance requirements, with a strong focus on Health & Safety and the “7 Steps to Compliance” framework. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing, monitoring, and supporting compliance across housing stock and operational processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensuring compliance with all relevant Health & Safety legislation and housing regulations
Applying and supporting the “7 Steps to Compliance” framework across the organisation
Monitoring and reviewing compliance in key areas such as gas, electrical, fire safety, water hygiene, asbestos, and lifts
Maintaining accurate compliance records and documentation
Supporting audits, inspections, and reporting requirements
Identifying areas of risk and implementing corrective actions
Liaising with contractors, internal teams, and external bodies
Ensuring all certification and servicing schedules are up to date
Supporting the wider team with compliance-related queries and best practice
Candidate Requirements:
Proven experience in a Compliance Officer role within Housing or Property Management
Strong working knowledge of Health & Safety regulations
Essential understanding of the “7 Steps to Compliance” framework
Experience managing compliance across housing stock (e.g. gas, electrical, fire, asbestos)
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively within a short-term contract
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Proficient IT skills, including Microsoft Office
