  • Contract Type: Temporary (6–8 Weeks)
  • Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 09:00 – 17:00 (Office Based)
  • Salary: £36,500 – £39,500 (pro rata)

    Overview: We are currently recruiting for an experienced Compliance Officer to support a Housing Association based in South Ayrshire on a temporary 6–8 week contract.

    This role is critical in ensuring the organisation meets all statutory and regulatory compliance requirements, with a strong focus on Health & Safety and the “7 Steps to Compliance” framework. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing, monitoring, and supporting compliance across housing stock and operational processes.

    Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant Health & Safety legislation and housing regulations
  • Applying and supporting the “7 Steps to Compliance” framework across the organisation
  • Monitoring and reviewing compliance in key areas such as gas, electrical, fire safety, water hygiene, asbestos, and lifts
  • Maintaining accurate compliance records and documentation
  • Supporting audits, inspections, and reporting requirements
  • Identifying areas of risk and implementing corrective actions
  • Liaising with contractors, internal teams, and external bodies
  • Ensuring all certification and servicing schedules are up to date
  • Supporting the wider team with compliance-related queries and best practice

    Candidate Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a Compliance Officer role within Housing or Property Management
  • Strong working knowledge of Health & Safety regulations
  • Essential understanding of the “7 Steps to Compliance” framework
  • Experience managing compliance across housing stock (e.g. gas, electrical, fire, asbestos)
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively within a short-term contract
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficient IT skills, including Microsoft Office
