Vacancy Description: Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Sous Chef to join our Clients team on a permanent basis. In this role, you will support the Executive Chef in all aspects of kitchen operations, including, food preparation, staff supervision, and ensuring the highest standards of food quality, hygiene, and safety. The ideal candidate has a strong background in fine dining or high-volume kitchens, exceptional leadership skills, and a commitment to excellence. Key Responsibilities: Assist the Executive Chef in managing daily kitchen operations and leading the culinary team. Supervise and mentor junior kitchen staff, ensuring proper training, performance, and motivation. Ensure consistent food quality, taste, presentation, and portion control. Oversee food preparation and production to ensure timely service during all meal periods. Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant kitchen in accordance with health and safety regulations. Step in and take charge of kitchen operations in the absence of the Executive Chef. Foster a positive and collaborative team environment. Qualifications: Minimum 5+ years of culinary experience, with at least 2 years in a Chef de partie level or above Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, kitchen equipment, and international cuisines. Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills. Proven ability to manage kitchen operations under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Understanding of food safety standards, HACCP, and kitchen sanitation practices. Passion for food, creativity, and continuous improvement. Working Conditions: Full-time position; must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. Location: Kilmarnock Salary: £33-35K
