Vacancy Description: JOB DESCRIPTION FOR BOOKKEEPER ROLE This role involves taking away the bookkeeping task from business owners by providing them with meaningful management information to help their business thrive. You’ll be making a massive difference to their business and they’ll love you for it. This is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join our forward-thinking team. The successful candidate will have solid knowledge of Xero and have experience of meeting/liaising with clients. Package Salary £DOE with annual performance bonus. Pension scheme with 5% employer contribution. 33 days holiday. Office parking. Hybrid and flexible working. Private medical insurance. Commission for new clients. Performance bonus. Full time role based on 35 hours per week – part-time would be considered Tasks include • Processing bookkeeping entries (e.g. invoices, payroll journals & bank/credit card transactions) • Bookkeeping and VAT returns for limited companies, partnerships and sole traders. • Control account reconciliations • Supplier account reconciliations • Month-end adjustments • VAT return reviews and submissions Responsibilities • Deal with one or more client assignments simultaneously and bring them to completion for review by a senior accountant or director. • Effectively document work. • Identify project issues as well as project progress in a timely and organised manner. • Build working relationships. • Develop technical skills both on the job and through formal learning channels. Key performance indicators • Meeting assignment/project objectives (timeframes, deadlines, budgets, outcomes). • Client feedback. • Quality of work output. • Integration into the team. Qualification/ skills and experience and personal attributes. Essential: • 3 plus years experience in bookkeeping and VAT • Sound knowledge of Xero and VAT rules • Knowledge of debits and credits. • Experience of Microsoft Office. • Good attention to detail and computer skills. • Good organisational skills • Good communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills. • Team player with a positive – ‘can do’ approach.
